Eid-el-Kabir: Buni Greets Muslims, Vows More Support for Security, Agriculture

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has felicitated with the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, assuring citizens of the government’s renewed commitment to strengthening security, boosting agriculture, and enhancing infrastructural development across the state.

In a statement signed by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, Buni congratulated Muslims in the state and across the country for witnessing yet another Sallah celebration, describing the festival as a period of reflection, sacrifice, love and compassion.

He urged the people to extend the spirit of the season to neighbours, friends, and associates, irrespective of political, religious or ethnic differences, noting that the lessons of Eid are essential for peaceful coexistence and national unity.

“This celebration offers another opportunity for prayers for the continued peace, security and prosperity of Yobe State and Nigeria. We must embrace the values of sacrifice, charity and love that Eid-el-Kabir represents,” the governor said.

Buni assured that his administration, in the remaining two years of its tenure, would redouble efforts in consolidating gains in security, revamping agriculture, and expanding infrastructure to improve the lives of citizens.

He encouraged residents to take full advantage of the ongoing rainy season by engaging in agricultural activities to boost food security and economic development in the state.

The governor also warned communities residing in riverine and flood-prone areas to exercise caution during the rainy season and adhere to safety advisories from relevant authorities to avoid flood-related disasters.

While expressing appreciation to the people of the state for their support and cooperation, Buni dedicated the successes of his administration to the resilience and understanding of the citizenry.

“I wish to dedicate the successes of this administration to your generous support and understanding. Together, we shall achieve more to improve the lives of our people,” he said.

The governor also commended the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, as well as vigilante and hunters’ groups, for their dedication and efforts in maintaining peace and security across the state.

He called on residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely information to help in the proactive fight against insecurity.

Governor Buni concluded by praying for a peaceful and joyous Sallah celebration and urged parents to be vigilant over their children during the festive period. He also warned motorists to avoid reckless driving and obey traffic regulations to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
