Aliyu Zubairu, Head Coach of El Kanemi Warriors, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to excel in the CAF Confederation Cup. The Warriors qualified for the tournament after winning the Federation Cup against Abia Warriors.
Zubairu praised his players’ hard work and dedication, stating that they are “battle ready” for their first preliminary round encounter against Dadje FC of Benin Republic. He emphasized the team’s high morale and commitment to bringing glory to Maiduguri.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has granted Dadje FC permission to host their home game at Mathieu Kerekou Friendship Stadium in Cotonou, Benin Republic, despite initial concerns about the stadium’s approval. The first leg of the preliminary round is scheduled for August 16th to 18th.
