The Elkanemi Warriors, Borno State’s football team, have made significant progress at the Super 8 tournament in Enugu, despite a narrow loss in their opening match. The team’s resilience and determination have impressed fans and officials alike.
Led by the Honourable Commissioner of Sports, Saina Buba, and his team, the Elkanemi Warriors have received unwavering support throughout the tournament.
After a 1-0 loss to Nassarawa in their first match, the team bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Supreme, securing second place in the North table.
The team’s next match against Sokoto in the third round is crucial, as a win would propel them to the national premier league with six points.
To boost the team’s morale, members of the Borno State House of Assembly’s committee on sports and poverty alleviation, Hon Babale and Hon Ali Kotoko, arrived in Enugu to support the Commissioner’s efforts in helping the team secure a spot in the national premier league.
