ES BOGIS Resumes Office, Announces Rewards for Top Performers

The Executive Secretary of the Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS), Engr. Adam Bababe, has called on staff to sustain the agency’s outstanding achievements and remain committed to excellence.

He made the call on Tuesday during a meeting with staff following his reappointment by Gov. Babagana Umara Zulum for a second and final five-year term.

Engr. Bababe commended the staff for their contributions to the agency’s success, highlighting milestones such as the issuance of over 650 Certificates of Occupancy and generating over N1.4 billion in revenue in 2024 – the highest in Borno State’s history.

“These achievements reflect the dedication, teamwork, and professionalism of our staff. The public’s trust and confidence in BOGIS remain our greatest asset,” Bababe said.

He urged staff to maintain discipline and professionalism, cautioning against absenteeism and laxity, which he warned would attract strict penalties.

On the status of ad hoc staff, Bababe assured that the agency would consider their permanent appointment as 43 staff members are set to retire this year.

To enhance staff capacity, he announced plans for robust training programs, combining in-house and external courses to equip staff with modern skills.

The Executive Secretary also unveiled incentives for outstanding performance, including a Hajj or Jerusalem seat for the best-performing staff member and land allocations for others.

Acknowledging January’s financial challenges, he announced allowances for all staff and directed the Finance Department to ensure prompt disbursement.

Members of the management team commended Engr. Bababe’s visionary leadership, describing him as instrumental to the transformation of land administration in Borno State.

Since his appointment as the pioneer Executive Secretary in January 2020, BOGIS has achieved significant milestones, including generating over N5 billion in revenue, processing over 2,500 Certificates of Occupancy, and implementing infrastructural upgrades.
