FG Gives Update on YEIDEP Disbursement, Promises Transparent Process

The Federal Government has postponed the initial Oct. 20 commencement date for the disbursement of the $2.5 billion Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP).

Mr. Kennedy Iyere, the Coordinator-General of the programme, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

He said the decision to postpone the disbursement was to ensure a transparent, accountable, and inclusive process that would accommodate all eligible applicants.

“The delay is aimed at ensuring that no applicant is left behind in the process. We are committed to upholding fairness and transparency in the implementation of this national intervention,” he said.

Iyere added that a new official disbursement date would be announced soon through verified government communication channels.

He also advised applicants and the general public to rely only on verified sources for updates regarding the programme.

The YEIDEP is a Federal Government initiative designed to empower youths economically and promote de-radicalisation across the country.
