FG Launches Nationwide Real-Time Online Classes

The Federal Ministry of Education has launched the Inspire Live(s) real-time online classes initiative to expand equitable access to learning for Nigerian students. The statement, signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, outlined the objectives and implementation plan for the programme.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is designed to tackle the shortage of qualified teachers and ensure continuous learning through live, interactive online lessons, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minister of Education, Chief (Dr.) Maruf Tunji Alausa, said the programme’s full rollout is underway, with plans to cover all classes from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3.

The Inspire platform currently streams daily classes for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., delivered by certified master teachers via Cisco Webex. Subjects include Mathematics, English Language, Basic Science, Civic Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science, French, and others.

The Ministry has directed Commissioners of Education to appoint State Focal Officers, circulate programme details to school principals, ensure ICT readiness in selected schools, and oversee registration strictly through Inspire support channels.

The online classes are open to all public and private schools nationwide. Schools and stakeholders were advised to visit http://inspire.education.gov.ng or contact designated desk officers for enquiries.
