FG Opens Portal for Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme

The Federal Government has launched the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) to address youth unemployment, poverty and insecurity.

The programme, which is part of the government’s efforts to empower Nigerian youths economically, was unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to the programme’s website, YEIDEP is designed to facilitate and provide adequate economic engagement of youths for active economic participation, nation-building and national security.

The programme aims to mitigate youth unemployment, grow Nigeria’s economy and alleviate household poverty by helping youths access business financing, enterprise development services and other economic incentives.

YEIDEP is a collaborative effort between the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Nigerian Senate and other stakeholders.

YEIDEP’s objectives include youth economic empowerment, de-radicalization and national security, poverty alleviation and promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
