The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) says negotiations with the Federal Government (FG) over outstanding welfare issues are ongoing and showing positive signs.
In a circular signed by the National Public Relations Officer of the union, Comrade Ja’afar Hamid Bage, the National Administrative Committee (NAC) said it reviewed the report of the SSANU team on the FG/SSANU Renegotiation Committee at its meeting held on Friday, Jan. 30.
According to the circular, the NAC noted that the negotiations were still in progress and that the proceedings so far had not been discouraging.
The committee urged branch chairmen to assure their respective congresses that the national leadership of the union was actively engaged in the renegotiation process and remained hopeful that discussions would be concluded soon.
SSANU also appealed to its members nationwide for patience and prayers as a show of support for the union’s negotiation team.
