Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has approved the appointment of seven traditional rulers for the recently established Chiefdoms and Emirates in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, in Yola on Friday.
The newly appointed traditional rulers are:
Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu as Emir of Fufore
Barr. Alheri B. Nyako as Tol Huba
Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga as Mbege Ka Michika
Dr. Ali Danburam (MBBS, FWACP, FCCP) as Ptil Madagali
Mr. Aggrey Ali as Kumu of Gombi
Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru as Emir of Maiha
Mr. John Dio as Gubo Yungur
Fintiri congratulated the new rulers, describing their appointments as a reflection of their competence, integrity, and acceptance by their people.
He urged them to uphold fairness, justice, and accountability in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing the importance of unity and development in their respective domains.
“The selection process was based on merit and wide consultation with stakeholders to ensure that only the best candidates were chosen,” Fintiri said.
The appointments take immediate effect.
