The National Leadership of Historical Society of Nigeria has recommended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for an honour award in recognition of his giant strides and selfless service to the Government and people of Adamawa State.
The National President of the Historical Society of Nigeria Prof. Samuel Agalinu, made this known while briefing journalists after a close door meeting with the Governor in his office on Tuesday at the Government House Yola.
Prof. Agalinu, revealed that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has made the society proud and was outstanding in his service to the people and Government of Adamawa State.
Prof. Agalinu who led other executive members of the society on a courtesy visit to the Governor said that the leadership of the society were in the Government House in solidarity with the Governor’s, achievements and pledged their support to his administration.
He revealed that the Governor has proved to be a selfless leader by immediately approving the payment of the N70,000 minimum wage, making him the first among few to pay the new minimum wage.
He maintained as a bonafide member of the society, Fintiri has made a landmark achievements in human and infrastructure development of his state thereby changing the narrative and writing his name in gold which the society is proud to recognized.
“When you see good thing you must state it as such, you can see peace, you can see that he is running an all inclusive government here in a state that is ethnically and religiously diverse.
“We’ve seen various Infrastructural development that is going on in the town, those he has completed”.
He revealed that as the society clocked 70 years next year, the society deem it fit to honour and identify with the Governor in its scheduled 70th Anniversary bill to take place in Abuja.
