Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has expressed gratitude for the commitment of the Danish government and the United Nations to initiate impactful projects in the state, aimed at addressing the aftermath of insurgency in Northeastern Nigeria.
During a meeting with a delegation led by the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria on Friday, Sune Krogstrup, Governor Fintiri discussed the pressing issues facing Adamawa State, including the influx of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from neighboring states and challenges such as flood disasters.
The delegation, which included representatives from the United Nations and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), focused on humanitarian aid and collaborative efforts beneficial to the state.
Governor Fintiri commended the proactive approach of the Danish government and the UN in addressing humanitarian needs, acknowledging the support as crucial in tackling the challenges faced by the state.
In response, the Danish Ambassador assured Governor Fintiri of their commitment to providing assistance, particularly in areas such as shelter provision and other urgent needs identified by the state government.
The ambassador praised Governor Fintiri’s leadership in addressing humanitarian issues and pledged to work diligently to support Adamawa State in overcoming its challenges.
