Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has on Tuesday launched the third phase of the Fintiri Business Wallet, which aims to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Adamawa State.
This program provides beneficiaries with a grant of ₦50,000 to support their businesses as part of the governor’s 8-Point Agenda focusing on youth and women development.
To date, the initiative has empowered over 20,000 women, with plans to expand its reach to more beneficiaries. The governor emphasized the importance of skills training and support, particularly in the ICT sector.
Linked initiatives include the NG-Cares empowerment campaign and a partnership with the SDG to assist vulnerable households. The state government mandates follow-up support and “trader clinics” to build capacity in micro-investment and savings.
Dr. Michael Zira, Director General of PAWECA, announced that disbursements will occur in three batches to foster a trade-friendly environment. The program is designed to uplift the less privileged, earning praise from the chairman of ALGON Adamawa State, Suleiman Gangkuba, for improving residents’ lives.
