
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to potable water supply and infrastructure development in Jada Local Government Area.
Fintiri made the pledge on Thursday during a visit to Jada as part of his ongoing tour of the 21 local government areas of the state.
He announced that additional resources would be deployed to complement ongoing water projects in the area to ensure improved efficiency and long-term sustainability.
The governor said his administration had consistently prioritised security, education, healthcare and empowerment programmes, noting that the statewide tour was designed to assess progress and identify areas requiring further intervention.
He commended the local government chairman, political appointees from Jada and residents for the warm reception accorded him, assuring that all legitimate requests of the people would be addressed promptly.
During the visit, Fintiri flagged off the construction of major roads spanning 4.42 kilometres to connect communities and stimulate economic activities in the area. He also commissioned the official residence of the Local Government Chairman, alongside other completed projects.
In separate remarks, the Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammed Buba Jijuwa, and the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Aloysious Babadoke, lauded the governor for his infrastructural strides in Jada.
They cited improvements in education, health, security and human capital development, and appealed for the establishment of a higher institution as well as the construction of the Jada–Kojoli road to further boost economic growth.
Earlier, the Chairman of Jada Local Government Area, Hon. Mohammed Salihu So’o, welcomed the governor and commended his peacebuilding efforts and infrastructure drive, which he said had attracted national recognition.
He described Fintiri as an inclusive leader committed to ensuring that all sectors of the state benefit from government interventions.
Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of the people, Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur presented the governor with warrior’s gear and assorted food items, describing the tour as a timely initiative to strengthen grassroots engagement.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by stakeholders and representatives of women and youth groups, who commended the governor and requested additional developmental projects.
The event featured colourful cultural displays and traditional dances, showcasing the rich heritage of Jada Local Government Area.
