Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has inaugurated key infrastructural projects executed by the administration of Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe State.
Fintiri, who served as Special Guest of Honour at the event, commended Yahaya for executing laudable projects aimed at improving the living standards of residents.
Speaking during the inauguration of a 33-kilometre road linking communities between Kaltungo and Balanga, Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that the project would stand the test of time and benefit surrounding communities.
The Adamawa governor also inaugurated a Tsangaya school at Bakasi, where he emphasised the importance of education as a foundation for future generations.
He commended Yahaya for responding to the educational needs of the people and expressed readiness to collaborate with the Gombe State Government in areas of mutual benefit to residents of both Adamawa State and Gombe State.
In his remarks, Yahaya said the road project would enhance connectivity between communities and strengthen economic ties between the two neighbouring states.
He added that the Tsangaya schools established across the state were designed to provide both Islamic and Western education to improve learning outcomes among children.
As part of the visit, the governors inspected a one-megawatt solar mini-grid project located in Talasse, designed to supply electricity to about 6,000 households and businesses in Talasse and Suwa communities, which had reportedly lacked electricity for about 15 years.
The solar project, described as a public-private partnership supported by the World Bank, is currently about 80 per cent completed, with provisions for expansion by an additional two megawatts.
The governors also inspected the ongoing Balanga Hydropower Project during the tour.
Meanwhile, during a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Danjuma Muhammadu, Fintiri was conferred with the traditional title of Bashama Waja, meaning Ambassador of the Waja people.
