Fintiri names five-member team to lead 2026 Hajj pilgrims

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the constitution of a five-member government delegation to oversee the 2026 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the delegation will be led by the Amirul Hajj, His Majesty the Ptil Madagali, Ali Danburam.

Other members of the delegation include the Deputy Amirul Hajj, Hapsat Abdulrahman; Hon. Dr. Umar Garba Pella; Dr. Bashir Imam Aliyu; and the Secretary, Saad Mailafiya.

Fintiri congratulated the appointees, noting that their selection was based on their proven track record of integrity and religious commitment.

He charged the delegation to prioritise the welfare of pilgrims from the state to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage exercise.

The governor expressed confidence that the team would discharge its responsibilities diligently and uphold the reputation of the state during the pilgrimage.
