Fintiri Orders Demolition of Unauthorized Structures at Yola Market

Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has ordered the demolition of unauthorized structures at the Yola market project site.

Fintiri gave the order on Monday during an unscheduled inspection visit to the market, which is at an advanced stage of completion.

The governor, who expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work, frowned at the illegal construction of shops and stalls in areas not captured in the approved design.

He described the development as unacceptable and warned that his administration would not condone any breach of order in public infrastructure projects.

“This market is meant to serve the people of Adamawa. We will not allow anyone to distort the layout or hijack public property for personal interest,” he said.

Fintiri reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the market project meets standard specifications and is completed in good time for the benefit of traders and residents.

The Yola market project is one of the state government’s flagship infrastructural developments aimed at boosting commerce and improving livelihoods.
