
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has presented the staff of office to Dr. Ali Danburam as the first Ptil Madagali, marking the formal establishment of the Madagali Chiefdom.
Speaking at the coronation ceremony in Gulak on Wednesday, Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening traditional institutions and fostering unity. He acknowledged the resilience of Madagali residents in overcoming challenges, particularly the Boko Haram insurgency, and urged them to support their new leader.
“This coronation reaffirms our commitment to justice and dignity,” he said.
The governor emphasized the need to revive local industries and enhance security, calling on the new traditional ruler to unify the people and promote peace.
Former Governor Bala Ngilari and Wali Adamawa, who represented the Lamido Adamawa, commended Fintiri’s leadership in strengthening traditional governance in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Danburam pledged to serve with selflessness and dedication.
The event was attended by dignitaries, government officials, and residents who celebrated the historic occasion.
