
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has been honoured with the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) Governor of the Year Award on Urban Infrastructure, marking the third time he has been recognised for his contributions to state and national development.
The prestigious presidential award ceremony was held on Sunday, December 7, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where Governor Fintiri was celebrated alongside other governors and distinguished Nigerians for exemplary service.
Presenting the award on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, commended the honourees for their impactful contributions to national growth. He described the awardees as individuals whose dedication has significantly advanced progress and improved governance across the country.
The organisers of the award said Governor Fintiri was selected in recognition of his exceptional leadership, vision and unwavering commitment to the improvement of public welfare. They highlighted his record in urban infrastructure development, education, healthcare expansion and economic reforms as key reasons for his emergence as the winner in the category.
Governor Fintiri’s efforts toward strengthening peace, unity and social cohesion in Adamawa State were also acknowledged, with organisers describing him as a leader whose governance model continues to inspire confidence and uplift communities.
The Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service, regarded as one of the most credible national recognitions for public sector performance, celebrates individuals and institutions that demonstrate innovation, dedication and excellence in service delivery. Governor Fintiri’s latest honour, they noted, is a reaffirmation of his administration’s impact and his consistent commitment to transformative governance.
