Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has called on the Federal Government to ensure the state receives a fair share of national projects.
Fintiri made the appeal on Monday in Yola during a meeting with Alaja Khadijat Omotayo, Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Affairs.
He expressed concern over the lack of Federal Government-awarded contracts in Adamawa, noting that despite the administration awarding trillions of naira in contracts to various states, Adamawa has not benefited adequately.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, stating that since assuming office in 2019, his government has not abandoned any projects but has instead completed and commissioned previously neglected ones.
Fintiri also decried the poor condition of federal roads in the state, describing them as death traps for commuters. He urged the Federal Government to prioritize their rehabilitation to enhance safety and economic growth.
In response, Omotayo explained that her five-day visit to Adamawa was to inspect abandoned Federal Government projects. She commended the governor for successfully executing numerous projects across the state.
