Fintiri Sets Up Panel for Malkoi Housing Allocation

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has inaugurated a high-powered committee to oversee the equitable distribution of 1,000 housing units in Malkoi, as part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable housing for citizens.

The committee is chaired by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. (Dr.) Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, and comprises top government functionaries and key stakeholders. Notable members include the Accountant General of the State, Mr. Kefas T. John; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Barr. A.K. Jingi; Surveyor General, Surv. Pwavidon Arnold Simon; and Malam Ibrahim Buba, Permanent Secretary (Political) in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, who serves as Secretary of the Committee.

Representatives from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the State Security Service, and the Adamawa State Mortgage Bank are also part of the committee, ensuring broad-based representation and transparency.

Governor Fintiri noted that the formation of the committee aligns with his administration’s vision of ensuring a fair and transparent housing distribution process that benefits the most deserving residents.

“The goal is to provide decent, quality, and affordable housing to the people of Adamawa State. This committee is charged with ensuring that the distribution process is fair, inclusive, and in line with best practices,” he said.

As part of its oversight function, the committee recently carried out an inventory and routine inspection of the housing units to assess the quality of construction and compliance with project specifications.

This exercise, according to officials, is aimed at ensuring the timely and complete delivery of the project, while upholding transparency and accountability.

The Malkoi Housing Project is one of several initiatives under the Fintiri administration focused on improving living conditions and addressing the state’s housing deficit.
