Fintiri Vows to Enforce Revocation of Illegally Occupied Government Lands

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to revoking government lands illegally occupied or encroached upon by individuals and organizations.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday after inspecting government projects and facilities, Fintiri expressed concern over the illegal occupation of state properties, particularly the State Agricultural Mechanization Authority office in Kofare, Yola.

He emphasized that his 2019 directive revoking all government-owned lands unlawfully taken over remains in force and will be fully implemented.

“I am out because, in 2019, I revoked this land, and now people have taken it upon themselves again to go ahead and forcefully develop these lands,” Fintiri stated.

The governor warned that the government would either reclaim the lands for public use or demolish unauthorized structures to make way for official facilities that would create employment opportunities for youths.

During his tour, Fintiri also inspected key projects, including the State Specialist Hospital’s laboratory complex, the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency, and a model primary school in Jimeta. He expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating that the initiatives were designed to enhance healthcare and education for citizens.

The governor assured that illegal land occupation would no longer be tolerated, vowing strict enforcement of the revocation directive to safeguard state assets.
