A recent intelligence report reveals that senior commanders of the Boko Haram terrorist group, fleeing from the intense military operations in Sambisa Forest, are planning to relocate their camps to Bakin Dutse Hill in Madagali Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, the terrorists are seeking a new hideout due to their deteriorating capacity to withstand the military’s onslaught.
The report states that Abba Alai, a high-ranking Boko Haram commander, was informed by his associate Salisu that the relocation is necessary due to the killing of dozens of their associates and the destruction of their weapons, vehicles, and food supplies by the troops.
The terrorists have reportedly suffered significant losses, including the destruction of their silos, food stocks, clothes, and homes, forcing them to seek refuge elsewhere.
Salisu revealed that apart from Bakin Dutse Hill, other fighters would be relocated to Ali Ngulde camp in the Mandara Mountains, considering Sambisa Forest no longer habitable or safe for them.
The military’s Operation Desert Sanity III has been ongoing for two weeks, dislodging the terrorists and causing them to flee in disarray.
