Flood Alert: Adamawa Government Postpones School Resumption by Two Weeks

The Adamawa State government has announced a two-week extension of the resumption of schools for the first term of the 2024/2025 academic session.

This decision was made in response to an alert issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) regarding impending floods in some Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Adamawa State.

According to a circular released on September 13, 2024, all Zonal Directors, Initiating Principals, and Principals have been directed to comply with the new resumption date of September 30, 2024. The extension is aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff due to the anticipated flood disaster.

The Acting Executive Secretary of the Post Primary Schools Management Board, Bilsan Panuel, disclosed this in a statement, emphasizing the need for strict adherence to the new information.
