Bridge Charity Foundation, an initiative of WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited, has unveiled a ₦700 million university scholarship programme aimed at expanding access to quality tertiary education and supporting outstanding Nigerian students.
The initiative, known as the Bridge Foundation University Scholarship Programme, is designed to assist academically exceptional undergraduates who demonstrate leadership potential, strong character and genuine financial need.
Under the scheme, successful beneficiaries will enjoy full tuition support, annual living stipends, structured mentorship and internship placements, offering both financial relief and practical exposure to prepare them for future leadership responsibilities.
Speaking at the launch, the Group Chief Executive Officer of WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited, Ahmed Lawal, described the programme as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s human capital and long-term development.
“At WealthBridge, we see education as a powerful driver of sustainable development. This scholarship programme represents our commitment to empowering young Nigerians with the capacity to shape the future, drive innovation and contribute meaningfully to economic growth and social progress,” Lawal said.
He noted that the initiative goes beyond funding, with mentorship and real-world experience forming a core part of the programme to ensure beneficiaries graduate as well-rounded individuals.
According to the Foundation, the scholarship selection process will be strictly merit-based and transparent, with oversight provided by an independent selection committee made up of seasoned professionals from academia, finance, governance and the corporate sector.
Members of the committee include Professor Adewale Olawoyin, capital markets expert Tairat Tijani, governance professional Ganiyat Olusesi and senior academic Professor Ibrahim Sodangi.
The Foundation said the diverse composition of the panel was intended to guarantee fairness, credibility and excellence in the administration of the scholarship.
The ₦700 million initiative is expected to benefit students across Nigerian universities and aligns with broader efforts by private sector organisations to support education and youth development in the country.
