Four Policemen Arrested in Adamawa for Misconduct, Use of Excessive Force

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four of its personnel for alleged misconduct and incivility to members of the public.

The officers were reportedly detained for indiscipline and breach of standard operational procedures after a video surfaced online showing them using excessive force while attempting to arrest a suspect.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the incident occurred on Oct. 14, 2025, at Sabon Gari Quarters in Fufore Local Government Area of the state.

Nguroje said the officers, whose identities were not disclosed, allegedly fired shots while trying to effect an arrest, a move considered unprofessional and contrary to police regulations.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, frowned at the unprofessional conduct displayed by the officers and ordered a full investigation into the matter,” the statement read.

The Commissioner assured members of the public that the law would take its course, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to upholding discipline and accountability within the Force.

He urged residents to remain calm and continue to support the police in their efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
