The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, LPPC, has shortlisted 98 lawyers for the conferment of the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
The names were contained in a document signed by Hajo Bello, the chief registrar of the Supreme Court and secretary of the LPPC.
The document reads: “The general public is hereby invited to comment on the integrity, reputation, and competence of the listed applicants.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the publication of the names of the shortlisted applicants is not an indication of their success in the process,” the statement read.
Prominent among the candidates are the national legal adviser of the All Progressives Congress, [Life Bencher], former officials of the Nigerian Bar Association,NBA, Monday Ubani, Kunle Edun, and Rapulu Nduka.
Others are Wendy Kuku, the legal adviser for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Terkaa Aondo, human rights lawyer and Paul Daudu, chairman of the NBA Bwari branch.
