
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the commencement of a large-scale recruitment exercise for qualified candidates into various academic, technical and non-academic positions across its faculties, departments and centres.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Office of the Registrar indicated that vacancies exist for positions ranging from Graduate Assistant to Senior Lecturer, Technologist, Instructor and other support roles in the university.
In the College of Medical Sciences, opportunities are open in 26 departments including Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Anaesthesia, Surgery, Child Dental Health, Human Anatomy, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Physiotherapy.
The Faculty of Agriculture invites applications for roles in Crop Production (Horticulture), Fisheries, and Forestry and Wildlife, while the Faculty of Arts is recruiting into Arabic Studies and English and Literary Studies.
The Faculty of Education also has vacancies in Arts Education, Social Science Education, Educational Psychology and Counselling, and Science Education, with positions for Graduate Assistants, Assistant Lecturers, Lecturers, Senior Lecturers and Technologists.
In addition to academic and technical roles, non-teaching positions are also open, including posts for Nurses, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Engineers, Accountants, Information Officers, Confidential Secretaries, Clinical Instructors, Programme Analysts, and Education Officers.
Each role has specific qualification requirements, including relevant degrees, professional certifications, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and experience levels.
Applicants are expected to submit written applications along with a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae and relevant credentials to the Registrar, University of Maiduguri. The application should clearly indicate the position and department being applied for.
The deadline for submission is 11th August, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The university added that all appointments will be in accordance with approved public university salary structures.
