Gombe State First Lady, Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, on Wednesday flagged off the distribution of instructional materials donated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The materials, including textbooks, teaching aids, and essential classroom resources, aim to strengthen the education sector, particularly at the basic level.
Hajiya Yahaya commended Senator Tinubu’s initiative, noting that it would bridge resource gaps in education, especially in underserved communities.
“Gombe State Government remains committed to providing quality education to our children,” she said.
In a related development, the Gombe State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) unveiled mini buses, sports equipment, and e-learning tools to boost curricular and extracurricular activities in schools.
SUBEB Executive Chairman, Babaji Babadidi, said the items included five mini buses, one Hummer bus, seven motorcycles, 78 tablets, sports equipment for 61 schools, and educational materials for 50 schools.
Commissioner of Education, Ass. Prof. Aishatu Umar Maigari, reaffirmed Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration resolve to prioritize education.
Other speakers emphasized the significance of these initiatives and assured strict monitoring to prevent diversion.
