Gombe Gov Approves Reopening Of GSS Dukku After 11years

Gombe State Government on Monday approved the immediate opening of the Government Mega College Dukku for the commencement of academic activities.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya graciously approved the opening of the school to further fulfill his pronouncement on the establishment of five Mega schools in the state to decongest the existing ones.

The Governor who on different occasions expressed his administration’s commitments in the education industry in the state said the establishment of the Mega schools will no doubt address major issues ranging from infrastructure deficit, instructional materials and the manpower needs of both the teaching and non teaching staff.

This brings the number of established Mega schools to five across the state which were designed to accommodate 3000 students each with state of the art teaching aids to make it conducive for Teaching and Learning.

The five schools that includes Govt. Science Mega College Gombe, Govt Science Mega College kaltungo, Govt Girls Mega College Doma, Govt Mega College Dadinkowa and Govt Mega College Dukku have all been turned around as Mega Colleges which were hitherto in absolute decay and dilapidation as a result of deliberate neglect by previous administrations in the state.

Similarly, the current students of GSS M/Sidi have since been moved to Govt Mega College Dukku to pave the way for a total overhaul of the school as approved and directed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa in an effort to give the school a befitting look.
