Gov. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has congratulated two indigenes of the state, Bello Shehu and Dankombo Morris Fallings, on their promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) in the Nigeria Police Force.
Yahaya, in a congratulatory message issued on Friday in Gombe, described the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of their years of exemplary service, professionalism and dedication to duty.
The governor noted that the two senior police officers had built distinguished careers in the force, marked by discipline, integrity and commitment to protecting lives and property across the country.
He recalled their remarkable performances while serving as Commissioners of Police, saying that Shehu demonstrated operational effectiveness during his tenure in Katsina State, while Morris earned commendation for his firm and strategic leadership in Adamawa State.
Yahaya said the government and people of Gombe State were proud of the achievements of the two officers, describing their elevation as a moment of honour and inspiration for the state.
“Your promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police is a source of pride for the Government and people of Gombe State.
“It reflects your years of commitment, discipline and exceptional contributions to policing and national security,” he said.
The governor noted that Shehu, who hails from Gombe Local Government Area, and Morris, from Kaltungo Local Government Area, had continued to uphold the ideals of the police force.
He urged the newly promoted AIGs to see their elevation as a call to greater service and to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and patriotism in the discharge of their duties.
Yahaya also assured them of the continued support and prayers of the government and people of the state, expressing confidence that they would justify the confidence reposed in them by the leadership of the police.
He described the two officers as shining examples of excellence, discipline and service, whose achievements would inspire younger generations from Gombe State to pursue careers in public service with pride and honour.
