Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism, discipline, and steadfast commitment to safeguarding lives and property, as well as for its continued efforts in tackling terrorism and other security threats across the country.
The governor gave the commendation on Wednesday while receiving the newly posted Commander of the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support), Col. S. O. Beke, who paid him a courtesy and familiarization visit at the Government House, Gombe.
Yahaya lauded the military for its pivotal role in maintaining Gombe’s reputation as one of the most peaceful states in the North-East, attributing the state’s relative peace and stability to effective collaboration among security agencies operating under a coordinated framework.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining partnership with all security formations in the state, noting that peace and stability are essential foundations for socio-economic development and prosperity.
“We are grateful for the professional conduct and sacrifice of our security forces. Gombe remains peaceful because of the synergy among the various agencies, and we are determined to continue providing all necessary support to maintain this status,” the governor said.
In his remarks, Col. Beke pledged to strengthen the existing collaboration between the military and civil authorities in the state.
He assured that under his command, the 301 Artillery Regiment would continue to work closely with the state government and other security agencies to safeguard lives and ensure lasting peace.
The new commander also emphasized his commitment to promoting mutual trust, intelligence sharing, and proactive operations aimed at preventing security breaches and sustaining Gombe’s reputation as one of the most peaceful states in the North-East.
