Gombe Governor Announces Key Appointments and Museums Committee

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the appointment of key officials and the constitution of a committee to strengthen governance and drive development across critical sectors.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Gombe.

Njodi said the governor approved the appointment of Barr. Mahmood Aliyu Bappari as a member of the Judicial Service Commission and Malam Haruna Ahmed Imam as the State Coordinator of the Gombe State Community Action Resilience and Economic Stimulus (Go-CARES) programme.

He said the governor also set up a committee to oversee museums and monuments in the state.

The Hon. Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Ethical Orientation was named chairman of the committee.

Other members include the State ALGON Chairman, Director-General of Gombe Media Corporation, Alhaji Yaya Hammari (Wazirin Yeriman Gombe), and Mr. Yakubu Sarma, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties.

Also on the committee are Dr. Usman Isa Ya’u, a historian, and Alhaji Abdulfatah Aliyu (Dan Amar Kaltungo), with Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, Permanent Secretary/PPS, serving as secretary.

Njodi said the governor urged the appointees to bring their experience and expertise to bear in their respective roles to advance good governance, economic resilience, and cultural preservation in the state.
