Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has strongly condemned the brutal murder of two residents, Yusuf Daddy and his sister Faiza, in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area, early on Saturday. The attack also reportedly left four other persons abducted.
Describing the incident as “barbaric, cruel, and utterly unacceptable,” Governor Yahaya said the killings and abductions are a direct affront to humanity and the peace Gombe State has long maintained.
“This dastardly act is a direct assault on our collective conscience and a painful test of our resolve to protect lives and property. The government and people of Gombe State share in the grief and anguish of the affected families and the entire Pindiga community,” he stated.
The Governor assured that security agencies, including the Nigeria Police, have launched an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators. He directed that all necessary resources be deployed to track down the criminals, rescue the abducted victims unharmed, and bring those responsible to justice.
Reiterating his administration’s firm commitment to security, Governor Yahaya warned that Gombe State will not serve as a haven for criminals. He added that security operations will be intensified, intelligence gathering strengthened, and collaboration with communities deepened.
Governor Yahaya also urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies, assuring them that the government stands firmly with the people of Pindiga and the entire state.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and the Pindiga Emirate and prayed for the safe and speedy rescue of those abducted.
