Gombe Governor Mourns Prominent Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Sa’eed Jingir

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sheikh Sa’eed Hassan Jingir, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ulama of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatissunnah (JIBWIS).

Jingir passed away in the early hours of Thursday in Jos after a prolonged illness.

In a statement issued in Gombe, Yahaya described the cleric’s death as a great loss to the Muslim Ummah and the nation, acknowledging his contributions to Islamic propagation and the promotion of peace, unity, and understanding.

“We have indeed lost a highly respected scholar and a guiding light. His wisdom and messages of peace, unity, and faith were outstanding. His lifelong commitment to the unity of the Ummah and his legacy of deep knowledge, compassion, and selfless service will continue to inspire future generations,” he said.

The governor extended his condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, the leadership and members of JIBWIS, particularly its Chairman, Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir, and the entire Muslim community.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the scholar’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
