
…Sets Up Taskforce on Implementation, Monitoring of Gombe Goes Green Project
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has signed into law the bill establishing the Gombe State Investment Promotion Agency (GOSIPA), aimed at enhancing investment and economic growth in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval on Monday said, the governor also appointed Faruq Ibrahim Daudu as the Executive Secretary of GOSIPA.
Njodi said the agency would play a vital role in promoting investment, improving the business environment, and positioning Gombe as a preferred investment destination.
In a related development, the governor has also approved the constitution of a Taskforce on the Implementation and Monitoring of the Gombe Goes Green (3G) Project.
The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability, create jobs, and encourage green practices across various sectors.
According to the SSG, the taskforce will be chaired by His Royal Highness, Dr. Abubakar Buba Atare II, the Mai Tula, with the following members:

Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro was appointed as Member/Secretary of the taskforce.
Njodi said all the appointments take effect from March 7, 2025.
He quoted Governor Yahaya as urging the newly appointed officials to bring their experience and expertise to bear in executing their responsibilities effectively.
The governor said the GOSIPA and 3G Project Taskforce were critical to his administration’s vision of economic growth and environmental sustainability.
He reiterated his commitment to policies that would attract investment, create employment opportunities, and make Gombe a model for sustainable development in Nigeria.
