Gombe Governor Strengthens Healthcare Accessibility with Go-Health LG Offices

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commissioned the Go-Health Local Government Area offices in the state to consolidate on gains of the contributory scheme and making healthcare accessible to all in the state.

Flagging off the programme at the General Hospital Deba, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area, the Governor assured of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare service delivery is taken to the doorstep of everybody in the state.

Represented by his Deputy, Manassah Daniel Jatau, Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the launching of the local government area offices is to strengthen the Go-Health programme which was established since 2021, towards ensuring that residents have easy access to quality health service without any bottleneck.

” Specifically, therefore, the establishment of the Local Government Area offices is a great testimony of Government determination to take the scheme closer and nearer to the population. While I appeal to the people to take advantage of this , I also call on those charged with delivery of service to be transparent and dedicated to avoid the situation of frustration , dissatisfaction and eventually an abandonment of these facilities”, he added.

The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru said the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya has resuscitated the health sector by providing health facilities, and established Go-Health programme as well as subsidising the services to make it accessible by the people.

He said, under the Go-Health programme the government has provided motor- circles to ease transport problems and encouraged the families who are yet to register to do so.

He applauded the Governor for his commitment to the welfare of the people and commended the contributions of the partner agencies towards success of Government programmes.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Governing Board, Go-Health Gombe State, Dr. Mohammed Isa Umar reiterated the commitment of the government to ensure the activities of Go-Health reach the grassroot with a view to enabling beneficiaries have access to the services.

He said, to ensure that most of the families are enrolled, district heads must mobilise their subjects to assist them have access to the opportunity provided by the government.

The Executive Secretary Gombe Contributory Health Scheme, ( Go-health) Dr.Abubakar Musa explained that the Go-Health programme which was launched in 2021 is doing very well having reached to more than 1000 poor and vulnerable people in the state within it’s mandate.

He said the launching of call centres in the local government areas is to be more responsive to the health needs of the people adding that the call centres are equipped for easy digital capturing of beneficiaries.
