The Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe (FTH) has banned its employees from engaging in cryptocurrency mining or any related activities during working hours.
This decision was made after management noticed that the trend was distracting workers from attending to patients.
According to Adamu Usman Tela, the hospital’s deputy director of administration, “We took this step even before receiving any complaints because taking care of public health is our top priority.” Tela confirmed this to Trust Radio on Thursday.
The hospital’s internal circular stated that staff are free to engage in other activities outside of work hours. To ensure compliance, management has deployed SERVICOM, ACTU, and security officers to monitor the situation.
