Gombe Prepares for 2024 National Youth Games, Hails Governor’s Support

Gombe State is intensifying preparations for the 2024 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, with the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Adamu Inuwa Ibrahim, reaffirming the state’s commitment to participating in the zonal elimination and main event.

“We’re still preparing as usual, and God willing, we’ll attend the zonal elimination in Taraba and the National Youth Games proper in Asaba,” Ibrahim said.

He praised Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s consistent support for grassroots sports development, citing it as instrumental in the state’s sporting progress.

“The government is doing its best to support grassroots sports development in the state. We’ll continue to thank the Governor for his continuous support and will continue to count on him,” Ibrahim added.

The zonal eliminations are scheduled for Aug. 28 to Sept. 1 in Jalingo, Taraba State, while the National Youth Games will hold from Sept. 9 to 19 in Asaba.
