Gombe State Extends Public Holiday for Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has extended the public holiday to Thursday, April 11th, and Friday, April 12th, 2024. This extension aims to allow civil servants in the state to continue celebrating Eid el-Fitr alongside their counterparts nationwide.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Jibrin Yusuf, acting on behalf of the Head of Civil Service, who expressed well-wishes for all workers and the general public, hoping for a peaceful celebration during this period.

Despite the holiday extension, essential services will be maintained to ensure the smooth functioning of critical sectors. Workers are expected to resume their normal duties on Monday, April 15th, 2024.

This decision comes as part of the state’s efforts to accommodate the festivities and ensure that citizens can fully participate in the celebrations of Eid el-Fitr.
