The Gombe State Government has unveiled the prototype of its proposed ultra-modern State Secretariat Complex, marking a significant milestone in its urban renewal and administrative reform agenda.
The project, awarded to Messrs Datum Construction Nigeria Ltd., is scheduled for completion within 102 weeks. It is a key component of the Gombe Three Arms Zone — a purpose-built district modelled after the Three Arms Zone in Abuja — which brings together the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary in a unified location.
The 3D architectural renderings of the Secretariat, as approved by the State Executive Council, showcase a modern facility that blends aesthetics with functionality. The design aims to streamline government operations by housing all ministries and agencies under one roof in a secure, efficient, and accessible environment.
Speaking on the development, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, described the project as a strategic intervention to improve governance, reduce fragmentation, and enhance service delivery across the state.
Located within the Special Capital Development Zone, the Secretariat Complex will complement other key infrastructure projects such as the State House of Assembly and Judiciary Complexes, the Shehu Abubakar District, and the upcoming underpass bridge initiative. Together, these projects are expected to transform Gombe into a modern, functional, and visually appealing capital city.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a reimagined Gombe — one that meets contemporary administrative standards while anticipating future needs.
“Our goal is to create a service-driven environment that reflects discipline, order, and development. The Secretariat Complex will be a symbol of governance anchored in excellence,” Yahaya said.
