Gombe Young Gymnast, Munyal Kwairanga, Seeks For Gov’t Support

A 13-year-old gymnastics prodigy from Gombe State, Munyal Kwairanga, has appealed to the Gombe State Government for support to compete in the International Gymnastic Championship in Singapore slated for May 2024.

Munyal Kwairanga is making waves in the world of sports as she sets her sights on representing Nigeria in the upcoming International Gymnastics Championship to be held in Singapore.

With an impressive track record including a 4th place finish at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State, and a stellar performance at the North-East Zonal Gymnastics Championships in Bauchi, the young girl said she is determined to pursue her dreams of international glory.

However, the young gymnast has said she is presently faced with financial constraint which is putting the strain of her training on her family.

She is, therefore, seeking support from the Gombe State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya.

According to her, she knows how it has been difficult for her parents to financially support her over the years.

“I am using this opportunity to appeal to Governor Yahaya to help me realise my dream by providing scholarships or any form of financial assistance,” she said.

Young Munyal is hopeful that with the backing of her community and the government, she would fulfil her ambition to represent Nigeria at the international gymnastics’ competition, and even the 2028 Olympics.

She expressed gratitude to her parents for their unwavering support and added that, “It is now time to seek government assistance to help me achieve my dreams.” Daily Trust
