Former NLC Chairman, Jonah Kataps, has appealed to Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, to include retired primary school teachers and local government workers in the state’s pension scheme.
Kataps commended the governor for allocating an additional N1 billion to pensioners but highlighted the pressing issue of pension arrears for local and primary school teachers.
He expressed concern for retirees who have not received their benefits despite decades of service, emphasizing the need for their inclusion in the government’s pension and gratuity scheme.
Kataps urged the governor to extend his empathy to all pensioners, including those from primary schools and local government institutions, to address their plight and alleviate their sufferings.
