The Yobe state Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni was in Maiduguri on Friday to condole with Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON over the death of his step mother, Hajiya Hauwa Abba Kormi.
In a statement Signed by Mamman Mohammed,DG, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Hajiya Hauwa died on Thursday after a protracted illness at the age of 69 years.
Late Hauwa was buried yesterday according to Islamic rites and is survived by five children.
Governor Buni, who led a state delegation, described the death of Hajiya Hauwa as a sad loss to the family, the community, and Borno state.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased in eternal rest and to the family, the fortitude to bear the loss.
“May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatu firdaus, and to your family, the government and people of Borno state the fortitude to bear the loss , Gov. Buni prayed.
Vice President Shettima thanked Governor Buni, the government and people of Yobe state, for identifying with their family at this trying moment.
“I sincerely appreciate this show of love and concern. I thank you so much, ” the Vice President said.
Borno state Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, also thanked Governor Buni and his entourage for the condolence visit.
