Gov Buni Meets Chief of Defense Staff Over Yobe Security Concerns

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, on Wednesday met with the Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, to discuss recent security infringements in the state.

Gov. Buni expressed concern over the new trend of terrorist incursions into the state, attacking and looting properties in soft targets along the borders. He cited recent attacks in Mafa and Geidam, resulting in loss of lives.

The governor discussed extensively with the CDS to find a lasting solution to these incursions and attacks on border communities. He expressed satisfaction with the CDS’ response and new strategies to check the menace and excesses of the terrorists.

Gov. Buni assured his administration’s support to all security agencies in the state to effectively fight crime and strengthen peace and security. The CDS promised to deploy more personnel and new strategies to bring an end to the movements and attacks by criminals in the identified areas.

Gen. Musa also assured improved synergy among the armed forces and communities to collectively defeat terrorism in Nigeria and other forms of crime.
