Gov Fintiri Inspects New CT Scan Machines, Healthcare Upgrades In Yola

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to modernizing hospitals and improving healthcare delivery across the state.

During an inspection visit to the State Specialist Hospital in Yola on Thursday, Fintiri emphasized the importance of upgrading medical facilities to meet modern healthcare standards.

“We have been working round the clock to see that we raise the standards of our hospitals so that we can meet up with modern healthcare delivery,” the governor stated.

Fintiri disclosed that his administration had procured two CT scan machines—one currently being installed at the State Specialist Hospital, while the second will be situated at the General Hospital in Numan. He directed that the installations be expedited to ensure immediate access to advanced diagnostic services for residents.

“I have come to see for myself that the contracts should ensure that these machines be installed immediately so that our people should start reaping the benefits,” he added.

The governor also addressed the challenges faced by patients who travel to Gombe and other cities for dialysis treatment. He assured residents that efforts are underway to establish local dialysis services, which will be free for patients until sustainable arrangements are put in place.

In addition to the CT scan machines, Governor Fintiri inspected a newly completed one-stop laboratory and the recently activated outpatient department (OPD), which had previously been non-operational. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding and improving healthcare infrastructure in Adamawa.

“We will continue to do our best to ensure our people get the best,” he affirmed.

The healthcare upgrades form part of the state government’s broader agenda to enhance medical services and ensure accessible, high-quality healthcare for all residents.
