Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Saturday led a state government delegation to partake in the nuptial rites of Sumayya Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, daughter of Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government.
The wedding fatiha between Sumayya Njodi and Jamilu Ibrahim took place at the Kaltungo Central Mosque, and was presided by the Chief Imam, Muhammad Isa Imam who sealed the union with the pronouncement of a dowry of one hundred thousand Naira (100,000).
Governor Inuwa Yahaya served as the Waliy for the bride, Sumayya, while Dr. Muhammad Bello took on the role of Wakil for the groom, Jamilu.
The occasion was witnessed by dignitaries and other well- wishers including speaker Abubakar Luggerewo, political figures, members of academia from various tertiary institutions within and beyond Gombe State, as well as representatives of the traditional institutions.
Governor Inuwa who used the occasion to congratulate the couple and their parents, noted that marriage as an institution requires mutual trust and understanding, urging the couple to respect one another and adhere strictly to islamic teachings in their matrimony.
