Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba has on Tuesday approved the appointment of Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara as the new Head of Civil Service of the state.
This follows the statutory retirement of Mr. Paul Maigida Tino, who exited the service on Feb. 3, 2025.
Born on Aug. 31, 1968, in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area, Kara attended Nurul-Ulum Primary School, Gembu (1974-1980) and proceeded to Government Secondary School, Gembu (1980-1985), where he studied Arts.
He later enrolled at the College of Preliminary Studies, Yola (1985-1987) for GCE Science, before gaining admission into the University of Maiduguri, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1995. He completed his housemanship at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Kara is expected to bring his experience in health and administration to the civil service, as the government seeks to strengthen governance and public administration.
His appointment takes immediate effect.
