Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Wednesday declared an open workshop for local border authorities to create a platform along the Nigeria-Cameroon International Boundary.
The workshop, attended by Chairmen of Border Committees from frontline states like Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, Benue, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom, aims to promote peaceful coexistence, good neighbourliness, and sub-regional integration.
According to Muhammad B. Tukur, New Media aide to the Governor, Fintiri emphasizes the importance of clear demarcation in addressing border issues and calls for collaboration between the Adamawa State Government, other State Governments, the National Boundary Commission, and affected communities.
The workshop aims to foster peaceful coexistence and open doors for progress and development, as well as facilitate cross-border cooperation and regional integration.
The workshop’s theme, ‘Transforming Borders from Barriers of Separation to Bridges of Cooperation and Integration,’ aims to enhance the security and welfare of border communities.
Among the dignitaries that attend the event are Secretary to the State Government Barr. Auwal Tukur Chief of Staff Government House Yola Dr Edgar Amos, Commissioners among others
