Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri joined the people of Shelleng Local Government Area to celebrate the 2024 Eid-El-Kabir Sallah, marking a historic moment for the community.
The Governor, accompanied by Amna Shelleng HRH Alhaji Abdullahi Isa Dasong and top government officials, performed two rakaat prayers at the Shelleng Eid ground.
The event was a significant milestone, as it was the Governor’s first visit to the area for such an important occasion. The Shelleng Eid ground was filled with faithful gathered to observe the prayers with the Governor, their paramount ruler, and government officials.
In an interview after the prayers, Governor Fintiri urged the people to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and pray for peace and security. He expressed optimism that with prayers, there is light at the end of the tunnel, despite the country’s challenges. He called on the masses to keep hopes alive and come together to support leaders and coexist peacefully.
Malam Lalwanu Dankaka, who led the prayers, admonished the faithful to be generous to the needy and make sacrifices with animals that meet Quranic requirements. The celebration was a heartwarming moment for the people of Shelleng, marking a new chapter in the community’s history.
