
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has assured local government chairmen that their performance at the grassroots will be evaluated as part of his administration’s two-year anniversary in office.
Fintiri made this known while receiving a Sallah homage from local council chairmen, led by the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State, Engineer Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba, at the Government House, Yola on Monday.
Addressing the delegation, the governor urged the chairmen to intensify their efforts in delivering effective governance, emphasizing their duty to serve their respective communities. He reiterated the importance of grassroots development, stating that his planned tour across the state would focus on assessing local development needs and ensuring they are adequately addressed.
Fintiri also reminded the council chairmen that winning elections requires dedication and hard work. He emphasized that his successor would emerge from the grassroots with a strong foundation in political experience, highlighting the necessity of leadership at the local level.
In his remarks, ALGON Chairman, Engineer Suleiman Gangkuba, said their visit was to felicitate the governor on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr and to reaffirm their unwavering support for his administration. He praised Fintiri’s leadership, describing him as a political mentor and pledging continued loyalty on behalf of the local government chairmen.
The meeting underscored the commitment of the Fintiri administration to grassroots development and effective governance, reinforcing the governor’s focus on evaluating performance as a key indicator of progress in Adamawa State.
